In the health care quality diploma i attend to , then mention Hospital
Tycoon as a Hospital Management simulation , as a Game more than a
simulation , however , most of the attender were old enough and toasted
in the med school and medical practice with no enough time for using
computer .
Games leave an impression that its for fun , as an entertainment , as a
time wasting . however , i don’t want them to leave with that silly
impression , so i have to refer to secondlife as the most trend virtual
reality game . and its hospitals ” virtualpalomarwest.org “.
Still they are not convinced , that the game can simulate a management
system in a facility , however , some refer to their lack of IT
knowledge , lack of time to use their PCs , as well as if its really
worth it !
however , Jumping to the point of this article : some Questions i should ask :
- For whom we should aimed those kind of projects ?
- & is it worth it , than the real practice ?
Speaking about quality :
- is it wise , to lose time practicing virtually than practicing in reality ?!
- What is the value of practicing a real time process , more than getting or predicting errors , costs , effects and resources !
- Though dose the predicted outputs data close enough as expected in reality to consider in real practice !
virtualizing the medical practice is in planning mood more , so i
have to agree with ( anti-IT doctors ) who consider it as a game , as
my opinion still the same :
simulating a system is not the same as simulating a
process .
