As a formal intern in Plastic surgery department , MD. Ahmed Alsabagh
asked me about any medical simulation software that might be useful for
them , unfortunately , after several searches , medical simulations is
still a fetus , in its early development weeks .

my previous
post was about Hospital Management simulations , however , as i
previously declared , i don’t consider them as a simulation , more as i
consider them as an RPG games .

The general idea about simulation is Training . to simulate the event to avoid the mistakes , and understand it even better .

in Medical simulation our event is a Procedure  , in medicine we have different types of procedures to simulate .

Simulating
medical practice itself is a different type of simulation , as an
example : Simulating a Hospital management system . its a System
simulation .

So now we have some types of simulations for medical practice :

1. Simulating a procedure . ( Surgical operations )
2. Simulating a System . ( a Hospital , a Clinic , Medical center ) 
3. and
   simulating a complex connected procedures in a system outline . (
   Demonstration of risk management event , Human resources management ,
   resources management , scheduling , Customer relationship management , outbreak )  .

N.B
: My opinion as Simulating a Hospital based on fact , that simulating a
system is much more beyond people doing some process . 

Why we need simulation ? in medical practice ?!

The need of simulation in medical practice as much as any fields else need simulation : testing , training , and education .

Issues :

Hospital management system , is different from a hospital to another ,
a country to another , and certainly the management process is bounded
by variety of people , education , discipline and system respect .

Simulating a management process as in hospital , involves many people ,
medical staff , paramedical staff , HCW , engineers ….. , etc . 
however the goal will be achieved if everyone one involved in the
system will collaborate .

however , in simulating a process as a surgical procedure , the limited
number of involved people , suggest the maximum usability and reaching
the education goal out of the simulation .

 
so , what’s worth it more , focusing on simulating medical system
, or simulating a procedure , and what’ll achieve the goal more .
