Since i started doing coding , in the 90s , i started to realize the most people who are interested and fascinated about the new generations of technologies are doctors , the number were expanding .
I interacted soon as i learn C++ 1997 with a team of doctors who were into a project to develop a medical billing / record software . multi national doctors , but they all were computer skilled with multi programming languages and experienced in IT as they were in medicine . i jump into my high school to leave the project and quite coding for a year ( as well as computer ) which made me study ( my father’s pressure ) to put me in med school .
In med school as well i found many doctors and students who are interested in coding , programming and development , some were for their own satisfactions , some cause they feel good or challenge in it .
Though , after med school , the students became doctors , so no enough time to finish their unfinished projects , or even to start new ones .
In internet life , i got many amazing coder and outstanding computer geeks which happened to be doctors in practice as well .
One from them developed many software sets for Hand held devices aimed for medical practice .
the last one i found through Django ( a python based web application framework ) , he is the creator of Instant django and a radiologist from US .
locally i had the opportunity to meet and know over 5 doctors who are interested in programming
, not only one of them are actively involved in some projects and the rest at got into medical practice life .
Though what happened to those Programmers-Doctors ? and where are they now ?
and what they can provide as skilled programmers into medical informatics world and medical software development ?!
