Bio-Linux is designed and maintained by NEBC Environmental Bioinformatics Centre which goal is to ” enabling environmental science in the molecular age ” , It has a complete set of software packages that regarding Bioinformatics , Bio-Linux is an Ubuntu based linux , and that suggest it got the power of ubuntu .

Means it got all the ubuntu features such as using usual software repositories for Ubuntu , the community supports provided by Ubuntuforums and Launchpad.net . regarding the simplicity of use it’s the best distro for porting special sides use .
2-Portability :
Bio-Linux can be installed on many ports : Memory Sticks , running as a live CD , or can be installed at the machine .
