Can we intergrate facebook in our medical and healthcare related application ?!

Facebook Connect is the developer portal for facebook integration resources into web application , projects and softwares . it provides comprehensive documentations and tutorials for developers , the main goal of it to enable the users to seamlessly “connect” their Facebook account and information with your site.

5 of my friends don’t have development background believe that would be extremely dangerous cause it will expose the user privacy , however some of them like the idea , few weeks ago i posted about twitter about facebook PHR ( Personal health record ) , as almost many millions already are using it , though got some replies which asking me how to consider the privacy and security of the application as all of the user data will be exposed to the public !!

Well , it’ll not , the user data will be exposed to the user only . which will focus on the user data privacy , however there are many issue will be considered .

Involving the medical , health care application with current active social network is a good idea , but it’ll have some of dependency of this application on that social network . which will miss the goal of standing alone application or service .

However , dependency is not that all bad , but it’ll drive the attention and produce more competitors on the same field , and some of them will be out of standards of privacy and security , and may be involve web crime and illegal activities in it .

In the other hand , using the same idea and concept to connect and communicate with EMR/ EHR patients through their facebook applications through integrating facebook into current active EMR / EHR application seems a good idea as its more easier to communicate now more than the other communication methods .
