Can We Play Surgery On XBOX Then Perform It In The OR ?

That Question , Just pumped in my Head , soon as i saw , National Geographic Today , in the Show “ I Don’t know That ” . Normally i like Documentary Movies , and especially the scientific ones . but this was somehow random and expectational , not cold or rough as the US Produced ones .

“I Don’t Know That ” , is a Show , that 2 scientists provide , those kind of information we never think in , and certainly we don’t know . Today , i saw an expectational test , that a Gamer ( guy used to play games : flight simulator games “as Flight Gear “) called Tim ( i didn’t catch his last name and after google search didn’t find it as well ) , He’ll Try to drive ( Control )a Robinson Helicopter , for the first time in his live , basing his try on hundreds or thousands of hours on ( Playing ) training on flight simulation games .

Amazingly , it was a successful trail, especially if we know , that kind of helicopter has a complex system in control ( 3 control systems as i remember ) .

Back to the question , a Plastic Surgeon asked me days ago , in my seminar , is Gaming Enough to train how to perform a surgical operation ?

Let me say , it needs a try ( and we can’t Try ) :

The situation and the stress : it would be different situation then , Surgeon in OR is under the pressure , more than the game.
The Process :every surgery i ever attend to , i believe it’s more complex than any game made yet . especially its made of serious , complex steps . ( more even than driven that helicopter )
The Collaboration : Surgery mostly is a work collaboration team , lets say , at least the doctor needs an assistant .
Decision Making : Decision Making needs to be based on many trails , conclusion and experience , and those need a reality training . more than a game .
Not everything can run as the book : What if The Situation gets bad ? and this is the first time ?

Conclusion : The Surgeons ( Doctors ) , can perform techniques , not the whole operation .

P.s : Tips for today from National Geographic :

Fire extinguisher : after they show a demonstration , they made me recheck my base at wikipedia . about the types and uses ( that cost me 20 mins ) also it was a good opportunity to review back ( fire code , first aids , and evacuation …… etc ) .
in U.K , There is over 60.000 fire accidents per year , Gosh That’s too much .!
Don’t Shut the fire that feed up on oil or butter with water . ( hahaha i did that once ) .
Don’t Use The water if the cause of the fire was electrical cause .

i tried to locate the show link , but i didn’t find it yet , still drowning in wikipedia ..reading random stuff.
