Healthmap.org Web2.0 disease reports all over the globe

Healthmap.org is a free web2.0 service that integrate Google map API to automate the electronic information and news alert about infectious disease and its impact regarding the geographical distribution .

Its the first project ever that integrates Maps API for such medical useful use , Google Maps API is a free services for developer for creating such projects . however no such projects before for health care .

Healthmap.org`s perspective as listed in their about page  :

HealthMap brings together disparate data sources to achieve a unified and comprehensive view of the current global state of infectious diseases and their effect on human and animal health. This freely available Web site integrates outbreak data of varying reliability, ranging from news sources (such as Google News) to curated personal accounts (such as ProMED) to validated official alerts (such as World Health Organization). Through an automated text processing system, the data is aggregated by disease and displayed by location for user-friendly access to the original alert. HealthMap provides a jumping-off point for real-time information on emerging infectious diseases and has particular interest for public health officials and international travelers.

The project is funded by Google.org , its also support 4 other languages other than English : Spanish , Chinese , French , and Russian . it gets the news of infectious

Healthmap.org is powered by open source free services such as PHP , xajax , and free libraries and API . which is considering another victory for open source resources and technologies are used in such professional projects .
