Netbook , Linux lite in Medical Practice ! Why not ?!

Netbook : is a light-weight, low-cost, energy-efficient, highly portable , with minimal hardware features , designed for general purposes , and basic internet functions ( email , rss reading , chat , browsing , ..etc ) .  to read more about netbooks .

Netbook , usually comes with its OS either its a Windows XP basic eidtion or , Linux . Though linux for netbooks comes always with many different customizable editions for such basic usage , here is a list of  linux for Netbooks :

1-Linpus :

Linpus is a Fedora Based Linux distribution , created by the Taiwanese firm Linpus Technologies Inc , has its own customized interface with a Lite Edition that supports minimal requirements lower cost hardware , as netbooks .

2-gOS :

Ubuntu based linux distro , fast , powered for internet by google apps , and run on Everex CloudBook netbook .

3-Ubuntu Netbook Remix :

Customized Ubuntu linux edition for netbook use , with simple user friendly rich interface .

We always hear about certain linux distribution that supports medical software  ,also some users for a certain distro who make a team to support an existed medical software on that distro ( Ubuntu , debian , Fedora ” redhat ” ….. so on ) .But we didn’t hear  about professional customized linux distribution that supports medical practice .

Regarding that we need , certain  hardware specifications in order to run medical practice related software , i believe we don’t need that much higher specifications , as well as with successful examples of open source linux based OS , why not we don’t see an example of a Medical or health care system that uses these mix of technologies ( Open source , Linux , Low hardware specifications , .. ) to build something more usable and dependable and cheaper that we see these days ?!
