Swine Flu Map : Using Google Maps service to map the H1N1 Outbreak

Swinemap.org is very special map because it provide an accurate information and up-to-date tracking of the H1N1 / Swine flu cases ( Confirmed , Death , unconfirmed as well as Influenza alike illness ) .

This Map is an example of using Web2.0 services ( as Google Maps ) to visualize the outbreak . There is no extra advanced requirement to build this map , Just the data and the service .

Swine Flu map , is created by a computer scientist working in the UK, together with a team of 18 other people. ( source ) .

Features included :
GeoRSS Feed :
The team provided a GeoRSS Feed which is an XML Feed can be viewed in any Mash-up application using Maps , GeoRSS is supported by GoogleMaps , Yahoo Maps and Bing Maps ( Microsoft maps ) .

Up-to-date Cases tracking :
The most current updates of the H1N1 cases are added which makes this map very good source to track the new cases .

Interactive Sidebar tools and summary :
In the sidebar ( left ) there us a summary about the H1N1 outbreak , which is also contains Map Keys ( Map Legend ) : to define the Markers key on the Map . Also a countries list which is interactive click-able links to show on the map H1N1 outbreak informations by country , then by the region / state .

Google Earth :
Its a built-in feature of google maps to make this Map available for Google Earth by exporting an KML file which can be opened by your desktop client of Google earth .

Share the map or Save it to yours :
To those who are not familiar  with google maps , there is a built-in usable feature for sharing the map by sending it , also you can save the map in your map`s box . Printing also included for this Map .
