Ubuntu Doctors Guild : Quick guide For Ubuntu`s Medical Users

12.24.2009 · Posted in Articles, EMR - EHR, Linux

Ubuntu Doctors Guild is a wiki form website created to form a guide and reference for doctors and health-care personal who use ubuntu on their computers . as a linux users for years i notice a lack of medical linux activities and communities such as community sites , though there are very strong medical and health-care related linux applications .

For years Linux was the preferable platform for researchers at labs , universities , and has a wide base of doctors who uses it . as  geeks and professionals . Thats why UbuntuDoctorsGuild is the first and real attemp to mix it all together for building a guide for ubuntu users .

Ubuntu Doctors Guild : is a Wiki so its open for contribution and editing , its also organized to topics and sub-topics for easy access .

The authors include the accessory packages as well the doctors may need to use in his daily needs such as : VoIP applications as Skype under Telemedicine , and Groupwares .

Adding Webinars Tools was a good idea but adding web services those provide such service as DimDim was quite an impressive though from the authors .

This project still needs a lot of work , contributions as well as authors . it starts as many other medical web2.0 projects as an gift to the community which should take it and contribute otherwise it’ll rust as many great similar ideas ( hopefully not ) .

The authors of Ubuntu Doctors Guild didn’t open  it yet for users contributions as i tried to register many times but failed to create my account .

The project is created by : http://bidwellconsult.dyndns.org/ .
